Back
Be Zeta
Several Records (year 2007)

Third and last album for the moment. The name of the album (Be Zed) apparently without meaning, it’s again a reference to their region El Bierzo as “Be Zeta” is the phonetic representation of “BZ” that it would be written on the car plates if this region had their own ones.

This region is geographically situated between Galicia, Asturias, Leon and Zamora. Its culturally privileged situation brought to the region lots of influences which helped with the years to create its own cultural identity without isolating from these closer regions. This is the feeling that the band pretends to reflect on this album. Taking as a geographic reference their region, the band picked traditional songs from these regions limiting with El Bierzo and play them trough their own particular musical filter. Into this album there are traditional songs like “ la Muñeira de Baillo” (La Cabrera, between el Bierzo and Zamora), the “Jota de la Montaña” (Laciana, north part, between Asturias and el Bierzo),” Ancares-Leitariegos” (Ancares, northwest part of el Bierzo and pass of Leitariegos, between Asturias and León), “Ramo Verde” (Sanabria, part of Zamora),” Corrido del Bierzo Alto” y” las Boleras de Noceda”. (from north Bierzo).

The band keeps creating and playing their own songs which reflects the influence of what they are surrounded by, the region as their Inspiration: “Si Vas”, “Al Sol en sol”, “Run dum”,” É día chao” y “Arre Michel”. All these songs are combined with a carefully picked selection of images which creates an audiovisual opinion about the worries and likes of the band, always made in a way that it’s open to interpretation, each person should take their own reading of it.
